THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL

On November 9, 1989, the East German government allowed its citizens to visit West Berlin. In celebration, crowds of East and West Germans climbed onto and crossed the wall that separated the two parts of the city of Berlin. Over the next few weeks, the people knocked the wall down. the fall of the Berlin Wall will always be remembered as a symbol of the end of the Cold War between the East and the West.
